Screen Highland, on behalf of the Highland Council, issue permits to productions filming at locations managed by the Council. To apply for a permit or for further details of when you will need a permit for your filming please contact us.
The Council also offers a wide range of services which production companies may find useful, such as cabling, waste management facilities and vehicle parking. Please see below for the full list of services available or if there is anything not listed which you might require please get in touch.

What additional information is required to support filming applications?
All productions filming in the region will be required to have risk assessments for all of their filming, public liability insurance covering at least £5 million (sometimes more) and be able to provide a crew contact which Screen Highland can always get hold of.
Are there other organisations productions should contact?
There are a number of organisations that productions may need to contact, some are listed below but when in doubt productions can be guided by Screen Highland on who to contact ahead of their filming.
What are the access rights in Highland?
The Highland region follows the same access laws as the rest of Scotland and follows the Scottish Outdoor Access Code. Productions should be familiar with the code.
